SCHOOL OUTREACH PROGRAMME
According to research, 67% of schools going children suffer from oral heath related challenges. The school outreach programme has been the most successful and organized ways of reaching children between 4-18 years of age both in primary and secondary schools. We believe that in order to change society children should be the focus as school has proved to be best environment for behavioral change.
Promoting oral health in children can be best accomplished by including different stake holders, including parents, policy makers, school boards, dentists and other health professionals in the community who are dedicated to promoting children's health. All these individuals, especially parents and teachers can emphasize the importance of good oral health for children. They also introduce, reinforce and model health behaviors to children into adulthood.
In order to establish successful school based dental clinics, our school programme follows the annual school academic calendar and this is done in partnership with the local health and education departments in respective communities were we operate. All services in schools are delivered at no cost.
